for your new plants

Lighting - covered!

Watering - we got you!

Feeding - right here!

  • Size:. 3-4 ft tall, if unpruned can grow to 3 feet wide

Light: Bright indirect direct light, about 3 feet from any window. Will tolerate low light, but may not bloom. Light discoloration marks on leaves are burns, and a sign of too much sunlight.

Water: Keep soil evenly moist. Use a pot with a drainage hole to prevent overly wet soil, which can cause root rot. Browning to the edge of the leaf can indicate underwatering.

Humidity: Relative humidity of 40% or higher. Shriveled, dry leaves are likely caused by dry air. Indoor humidity can drop drastically in winter and may need a boost. Take a look at these easy ways to increase humidity for your houseplants.

    Temperature: Average room temperatures (65-75°F/18-24°C)

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced organic houseplant fertilizer that includes micronutrients, using half the recommended strength. Yellow edges on leaves are an indication of nutrient deficiency.

  • Size: Leaves can reach up to two feet long, and the plants themselves typically grow one to three feet tall and equally as wide. The plants aren't conspicuous bloomers, but they can produce flowers that resemble a peace lily (made up of a spathe and spadix).

Light: Aglaonema can tolerate low light, but the colorful and variegated ones will maintain their luster in medium to bright, indirect sunlight. They should never be placed in direct sunlight. They can grow under artificial lighting, making them ideal for offices and interior low-light spaces.

Water: keep your soil slightly moist, letting it dry out in between waterings. To avoid pooled water at the bottom, ensure that you are using a pot with holes for drainage and emptying the water tray of any excess water.

Humidity: love high humidity levels of around 70%

    Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 65-75°F

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: Feed your Aglaonema monthly during the spring and summer months with a general-purpose houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Feed once during the fall season.

  • Height: 1-2 ft (30-60 cm)

Light: Bright light, with some direct sun in winter.

Water: Keep soil lightly moist spring through fall, slightly drier in winter. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely.

Humidity: Average to dry room humidity.

    Temperature: Average room temperatures 65-75°F/18-24°C

    Soil: Swanky Cacti Mix.

Fertilizer: Spring through fall, feed monthly with a 2-7-7 succulent plant fertilizer.

  • Height: To 2 ft (60 cm)

Light: Bright light, but no direct sun.

Water: Keep soil moist spring through fall when plant is actively growing. Water sparingly in winter, allowing soil to become almost dry between waterings.

Humidity: Requires moist air, preferably 50% relative humidity or higher. Use a room humidifier for best results.

    Temperature: Average to warm 65-75°F/18-24°C.

    Soil: Swanky Swamp Thing

Fertilizer: Feed every 2 weeks spring through fall with a 20-10-10 liquid fertilizer diluted by half. Do not feed in winter as this plant has dormant periods.

  • Height: Some common species can grow up to 20 in; compact cultivars reach only 12 in (30 cm). Tall climbing species may need staking on a moss pole as the can grow as tall as 7 ft.

Light: At least 4 hours of bright light each day. No direct sun.

Water: Keep soil evenly moist through spring and summer. Water less frequently in the winter. Yellow leaves and edema are caused by overwatering. Keep damp, but do not allow soil to get soggy.

    Soil: Swanky Swamp Thing

Humidity: Try to maintain 50% relative humidity or higher.

Temperature: 65-70°F at night, 75-80°F during the day.

  • Height: 6 inches to over 3 feet (90 cm) in height

Light: Most begonias prefer part shade or bright shade, but some, like bedding begonias, thrive in full sun. Different varieties require different amounts of light. In the winter, begonias can tolerate more light, but you should move them out of direct sunlight as the temperatures warm up. Direct sun can scorch their leaves, especially if it's up next to glass.

Water: Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering. Water in the morning when the leaves are wet from dew, and only when the soil starts to dry. Reduce watering in the winter, and stop watering tuberous begonias in the fall.

Humidity: a minimum of 45% humidity

    Temperature: (50°-90°F/10°-32°C)

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

    Fertilizing

Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength every other time you water. You can also apply a balanced slow-release granular fertilizer when you plant, or use a liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Avoid over-fertilizing, as too much plant food can attract insect pests.

  • Height: Varies by species

Light: At least 2-3 hours of full sun a day.

Water: Water regularly spring through fall while plant is growing, sparingly in winter. If the plant appears shriveled and wrinkled, it's underwatered. To rehydrate it, water lightly, and then again the following day, and it will recover nicely. Be careful not to drench the soil. Cactus is likely to rot if its roots become soaking wet. Tap water is hard on cactus plants and can cause hard water stains. Use distilled or rain water and water from the bottom or water the potting mix.

    Humidity: Average to dry air.

Temperature: Average room temperatures 65-75°F/18-24°C. In winter, a cooler place to rest - 50-60°F/10-16°C at night is ideal.

    Soil: Swanky Cacti Mix

Fertilizer: Typical cactus house plant fertilizer is 2-7-7. It needs less nitrogen than foliage plants and higher phosphorus and potassium for better flowering and strong roots.

  • Height: Up to 18 in (45 cm)

Light: Moderate to bright light. No direct sun.

Water: Keep soil evenly moist. Do not allow the soil to get soggy. Use distilled water or rainwater because this plant is sensitive to fluoride and salts in tap water.

Humidity: Moderate to high humidity. A room humdifier works best. Or set plant on a tray of wet pebbles. Mist its leaves with distilled water or rainwater (tap water with chlorine or fluoride can leave white spots on leaves) at room temperature.

    Temperature: Average to warm 65-85°F/18-29°C

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: Feed every 2 weeks spring and summer with a 10-10-5 liquid fertilizer diluted by half. In fall and winter, feed monthly.

  • Height: Epipremnum can grow up to 60 feet in the wild, but indoors it typically vines 6–10 feet

Light: Epipremnum prefer bright, indirect light, but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight

Water: Epipremnum prefers for the soil to dry out between waterings and should be watered regularly

Humidity: Aim for 40% to 70% relative humidity to keep the leaves lush

    Temperature: between 65-85°F (18-29°C)

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: Any basic indoor NPK Fertilizer, twice a year

  • Height: Up to 10 ft (3 m) in a container

Light: Bright light, no direct sun.

Water: Keep soil evenly moist. Use a pot with a drainage hole, water thoroughly, then empty drainage tray. Be careful not to overwater, which will cause root rot. Drooping yellow leaves are a symptom of overwatering.

Humidity: Relative humidity of 40-50% is ideal. Indoor air can plummet in winter, so it's a good idea to increase the humidity for your houseplants.

Temperature: Normal room temperatures 65-75°F/18-24°C. Rubber plant will tolerate a minimum of 50°F/10°C in winter.

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: Feed once a month spring through summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted by half.

    Fertilizer:

  • Light: Succulents like bright light but not necessarity direct sun. A succulent that is not getting enough light has a tendancy to grow and stretch towards the light causing it to look gangly and grow out of it's container.

Water: Water only when completely dry. Succulents do not like their roots to stay wet for more than a day or two. Generally you want to water every 10 -14 days. Error on the side of too little water. Overwatering will cause your succulents to rot and die. Water directly onto the soil, avoid getting water on the leaves of the plant. A Note about Container Gardens: When your succulent(s) are planted in a container with no drainage it is very important that you do not over water. Depending on the size of your plant, start with 1 or 2 Tablespoons of Water (per plant). Again error on the side of too little water. The best way to tell whether your succulent is being over or underwatered is by the appearance of the leaves. An underwatered plant will have wrinkly, shriveled up leaves whereas an overwatered plant will have soft, mushy, almost translucent leaves.

Temperature: Maintain a warmer temperature. Succulents like about 70-80 degrees in summer months and 50-60 degrees in winter months.

    Soil: Swanky Cacti Mix.

  • Height: 4 to 12 feet

Light: Hoyas require bright, indirect light to thrive. Avoid direct sunlight and provide some shade if necessary. Avoid low light conditions.

Water: In general, Hoyas should be watered once a week, but this may vary depending on the conditions

    Humidity: Ideally 60-80%

    Temperature: Between 68° and 75° F (20° to 24° C)

    Soil: Swanky Chunky Mix

    Fertilizer:

  • Height: To 4 ft (1.2 m) indoors

Light: Moderate to bright light. No direct sun, which can cause brown scorch marks on the leaves.

Water: Keep soil moist spring through fall. Allow surface to dry out between waterings in winter. Yellow leaves are caused by overwatering.

Humidity: This rainforest native prefers humidity. Mist foliage occasionally. If your home is really dry, use a room humidifier to boost moisture in the air around it.

    Temperature: Average to warm 60-80°F/16-27°C

    Soil: Swanky Chunky Mix

Fertilizer: Feed monthly spring through fall with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted by half.

  • Size: From the stout, shorter hahnii varieties to the tall and lean laurentii and zylanicas, Sansevieria brings form and function together, making them ideal for interior design. Between 6” - 36”

Light: These plants will thrive in a west or east window indoors. Outdoors this plant will do best with bright indirect light - not direct sun.

Water: As a succulent, the water requirement is low. If the plant is potted Swanky Soil, water once a week or when completely dry.

Humidity: These plants do not require special conditions

    Family: Asparagaceae

Common Name: Snake Plant, Mother in Laws Tongue, Saint George's Sword, Viper's Bowstring Hemp

These houseplants are considered the best air purifying plants because they clean formaldehyde from the air and release oxygen at night.

    Temperature: Between 60° - 100° F

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: These do not require any special nutrients. A standard organic fertilizer such as Espoma Cactus Fertilizer is sufficient every 6 months

  • Height: Stems length 3ft (30 cm).

Light: Bright light is good but not essential. The zamioculcas zamiifolia grows fine with low levels of light, but it's best to avoid direct sunlight.

Water: Allow the soil to become dry at the top to the touch between watering and do not over water. It's best to water this plant less than too much because over-watering can cause stem and rhizome rot.

Humidity: Average house humidity is advised but increase humidity if the artificial heating within the home or workplace is quite dry.

Temperature: Average warmth is fine of approximately 60-75°F (15-24°C) and no lower than 45°F (8°C).

    Soil: Swanky Basic Blend

Fertilizer: During the main growing season (April - August) feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer which is diluted, once a month.
